Recently, the cardiovascular surgery team led by Professor Chen Hao at Chongqing People’s Hospital successfully and independently completed a ValveClamp® transapical transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) for severe mitral regurgitation in an 81-year-old high-risk patient.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for the hospital in the field of minimally invasive and structural heart disease interventions.

Recently, a team from the Institute of Cardiology at Zhongshan Hospital, affiliated with Fudan University, completed an exploratory study on 10 patients with functional mitral regurgitation (FMR), using the ValveClamp, the world's first transapical mitral valve clip developed in collaboration with Shanghai Hanyu Medical Technology Co., Ltd. (Hanyu Medical). The results were satisfactory. The study was conducted by Academician Ge Junbo, Director Wang Chunsheng, Professor Zhou Daxin, Professor Wei Lai, and Professor Pan Cuizhen.

Recently, Professor Wei Lai, Professor Zhou Daxin, and Professor Pan Cuizhen from the Heart Research Institute of Zhongshan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University completed a case of atrial functional mitral regurgitation (AFMR). The surgical process is smooth and the effect is perfect. The catheter operation time is less than 20 minutes, the total surgical time is less than 50 minutes, and there is mild mitral regurgitation after surgery. The case results are presented as follows:

On August 16, 2020, in the post pandemic era of Wuhan, Professor Dong Nianguo's team from Tongji Medical College Affiliated Union Hospital of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as Wuhan Union Hospital) and Academician Ge Junbo's team from Zhongshan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University successfully performed minimally invasive mitral valve clamping surgery on an elderly patient with severe mitral regurgitation using the transthoracic apex mitral valve clamp system (ValveClamp) developed by Shanghai Hanyu Medical Technology Co., Ltd.

On June 23, 2020, a team led by Professor Chen Lianglong from the Department of Cardiology and Professor Chen Liangwan from the Department of Cardiology at Fujian Medical University Affiliated Union Hospital and Fujian Provincial Heart Medical Center, in collaboration with Professor Zhou Daxin, Deputy Director Pan Wenzhi, and Dr. Li Wei from Fudan University Affiliated Zhongshan Hospital, performed a "transthoracic mitral valve clipping surgery under esophageal ultrasound guidance" for two elderly patients with severe mitral regurgitation, avoiding traditional thoracotomy and extracorporeal circulation. After the surgery, both patients experienced mild mitral regurgitation, and the surgery was a complete success.
